Torrents of Spring

Kitob mualliflari Jonathan R. Adelman,

The Torrents of Spring is a short satirical novel written by Ernest Hemingway in 1926. The book humorously parodies the writing style and themes of the American literary scene of the early 20th century, particularly mocking the works of Hemingway’s own contemporaries, including Sherwood Anderson. Set in a small town in Michigan, the story follows Scripps O’Neil and Yogi Johnson, two World War I veterans searching for love, meaning, and purpose in a changing world. Through exaggerated characters and absurd situations, Hemingway exposes the clichés of romanticism and the artificiality of literary pretension.
