Blockchain Basics
Daniel Drescher,This book fills the gap that exists between purely technical books about the blockchain, on the one hand, and the literature that is mostly concerned with specific applications or discussions about its expected economic impact or visions about its future, on the other hand. The blockchain has received a lot of attention in the public discussion and in the media. Some enthusiasts claim that the blockchain is the biggest invention since the emergence of the Internet. Hence, a lot of books and articles have been written in the past few years about the blockchain. However, if you want to learn more about how the blockchain works, you may find yourself lost in a universe of books that either quickly skim over the technical details or that discuss the underlying technical concepts at a highly formal level. The former may leave you unsatisfied because they miss to explain the technical details necessary to understand and appreciate the blockchain, while the latter may leave you unsatisfied because they already require the knowledge you want to acquire

FOOD SAFETY HANDBOOK
RONALD H. SCHMIDT , GARY E. RODRICK,Food safety legislation and regulations have long been impacted by a variety of factors, including socioeconomic, consumer, political, and legal issues. With regard to food safety issues and concerns, certain parallels can be drawn between the beginning and close of the 20th century. At the start of the 20th century, several food safety issues were brought to the public’s attention. The intent of this book is to define and categorize the real and perceived safety issues surrounding food, to provide scientifically non-biased perspectives on these issues, and to provide assistance to the reader in understanding these issues. While the primary professional audience for the book includes food technologists and scientists in the industry and regulatory sector, the book should provide useful information for many other audiences.

Basic Electronics for Scientists and Engineers
D e n n i s L . E g g l e s t o n,A professor of mine once opined that the best working experimentalists tended to have a good grasp of basic electronics. Experimental data often come in the form of electronic signals, and one needs to understand how to acquire and manipulate such signals properly. Indeed, in graduate school, everyone had a story about a budding scientist who got very excited about some new result, only to later discover that the result was just an artifact of the electronics they were using (or misusing!). In addition, most research labs these days have at least a few homemade circuits, often because the desired electronic function is either not available commercially or is prohibitively expensive. Other anecdotes could be added, but these suffice to illustrate the utility of understanding basic electronics for the working scientist.

Sport and Exercise Psychology
Ellis Cashmore,This book is like a supermarket cart after a twenty-minute journey around the aisles: brimming with all manner of assorted products, some essential, others minor extravagancies, but all of which will get used at some point. Like the consumables from the supermarket, the contents of this book will not be enough to get the shopper through the whole week, and visits to other, more specialist stores will be needed. But there will be enough staples to get started, and many of the goods will be kept in the fridge and used at a later stage.

Traditional oil painting
Virgil Elliott,THERE ARE JUST A FEW POINTS that I feel should be made in the interest o f clarification before the reader launches into the book proper, if I may be indulged the use of the first-person singular for just a bit. It was my initial intention to write the text of this book as clearly and descriptively as possible, so that there would be no need for a great many pictorial illustrations to put my points across, and to use examples from the greatest oil painters throughout art history, as many as my budget would allow, as illustrations for the points mentioned in the text
