    English Grammar in Use is intended mainly as a self-study book, although teachers may also find it useful as additional course material which can he used flexibly either with the whole class or individual students. When using the hook with the whole class, it is suggested that the teacher teaches the grammar points concerned in whatever way he/she wants. In this case the left-hand page is not used actively during the lesson but serves as a record of what has been taught and can be referred to afterwards by the student. The exercises can then he done in class or as homework

The introductory course covers material from chapters 1 through 8, while the more advanced course combines a review of chapters 1 through 7 with careful study of chapters 9 through 12.

    Profesora Augusta Tenteļa pirmā sadarbība ar jauno Latvijas Universitāti (LU) aizsākās 1920. gadā decembrī, tolaik gan tā vēl bija Latvijas Augstskola, kad viņš atsaucās aicinājumam uzsākt darbu toreiz vēl Valodnieciski filozofiskā fakultātē. Fakultātes kolektīvā A. Tentelis iekļāvās pārliecinoši, par ko liecina fakts, ka 1920. gada 11. marta sēdē viņš tiek ievēlēts par docentu, bet tā paša gada novembrī viņš jau pretendē uz profesora amata vietu. Profesora amatā viņš tiek ievēlēts 1921. gada 5.oktobrī. Lekcijas profesors lasīja par Senās Romas vēsturi un viduslaiku vēsturi, kā arī par vēstures metodoloģiju. Viņš ir arī vairāk nekā 100 publikāciju autors. ”Tomēr visnozīmīgākais, kaut arī zināmā mērā netiešs A. Tenteļa devums Latvijas vēstures pētniecībā saistāms ar viņa kā Latvijas Universitātes docētāja ieguldījumu, sagatavojot jaunās paaudzes profesionālus vēsturniekus, kuriem viņš deva savu pieredzi un zināšanas.’’ eskatoties uz regulāru jaunākās literatūras un arhīva materiālu studēšanu lekciju lasīšanu un publikāciju sagatavošanu, doktora promocijas darbu viņš tā arī euzrakstīja. ”1936. gadā, tikai 16 gadus pēc darba uzsākšanas LU, A. Tentelim iešķīra LU vēstures zinātņu Goda doktora grādu.’’
