STAN LE ROY WILSON is professor of mass communication at College of the Desert in Palm Desert. California. He holds a doctorate from the University of Southern California and earned his bachelor's and master’s degrees from California State Universities, Fresno and Stanislaus. Prior to his 30-year teaching career at California State universities and community colleges, he worked as a newspaper and radio journalist and as a public relations consultant.
