Basics interior architecture

The aim of this book is to provide a focussed, informative and readable investigation into the practice of designing interior space. Interior architecture is a subject that encompasses the analysis and understanding of existing buildings and proposed spaces, the nature and qualities of an interior space, and an intimate examination of the characteristics of interior decoration. Form & Structure will reveal the process of organising and redesigning a particular space or spaces and will dismantle this practice into its constituent parts with a particular emphasis upon issues of form and structure. Each section will focus on the space but will also deal with a particular aspect of the redesigning process. It will argue that the way forward for interior design is a method based upon process rather than function. An approach based upon a perceptive and discriminating reading of the existing or proposed space can produce both dynamic and appropriate results.

Landscape architecture

THIS IS A BOOK for architects, landscape architects, and planners, al- though not exclusively, for it is addressed to anyone (and everyone) whose task it may be to plan a structure, a garden, a park, a city, or any other project in the all-embracing landscape. But to start at the beginning.... Some years ago the late John Knox Shear, then Head of the Depart- ment of Architecture at Carnegie Tech, proposed that the author develop and teach a new course for student architects. This course should, as Shear explained it, "extract from the field of landscape architecture those facts, concepts, and principles of most value to architects, both in their studies and, later, in their professional work." The course, happily, was well received, and was soon expanded by a second semester that enlarged upon the landscape architectural as- pects to include those of most interest to urban and regional planners. As the years went by the lecture notes were amplified. Hundreds of drawings and diagrams were sketched in the margins, and illustrative photographs were inserted like plums in a pudding. Without intention a book had almost grown into being- but not quite. For a book, so the editors tell us, must be more concise and better interrelated than a series of lecture notes. And so the material has been carefully re- worked pruned, grafted, and trained to a more attractive and useful form. As a proper book, at last, it contains less foliage and more fruit.

Образование и воспитание, являясь продуктом сознания, одновременно являются факт ором, определяющим уровень сознания и его развития. Неизменив систему образования и воспитания, нельзя изменить сознание. А не изменив сознание и,соответственно, разум, невозможно достичь нашей высшей цели - построить свободное и процветающее общество.
