Fred Maidment,hen the first edition of Annual Editions: International Business was being compiled a few years ago, the world was a very unstable place. Power in the then-Soviet Union was very much in question, and there was uncertainty everywhere. The day Boris Yeltsin jumped on a tank outside the Russian Parliament was the day that I was writing the introductory essay for the section that included articles on the Soviet Union. In fact, I was typing part of that essay when the news bulletin reporting Yeltsin's act came over the radio. Needless to say, I had to rewrite the essay. International business is where the economy of the world is heading. Virtually all countries and all organizations will be engaged in doing business with other organizations outside of their home country.

Bruse Stinebrickner,The article covers the period of the development of public diplomacy of the United States of America in the Republic of Cyprus. The chronological framework is determined by the process of historical formation of the US public policy and the beginning of the active implementation of public diplomacy programs on the island as a means of fulfilling foreign policy tasks. The author points out that the political course of the leadership of the United States from the second half of the 20th century was focused on more active inclusion of the country in international politics and the rejection of isolationism, which was primarily reflected in the departure from the postulates of the Monroe Doctrine and the entry of the United States into the First World War. This, in turn, had a great influence on the development of public diplomacy in the United States as a tool to promote the interests of the country, the creation of the necessary information support for foreign policy actions of the state, as well as a favorable image of the United States in other countries. For a long time, the USA did not consider Cyprus as one of the priorities of its foreign policy in the Eastern Mediterranean. This was largely due to the fact that Cyprus was part of traditional interests of Great Britain. Washingtons involvement in Cyprus occurred after the events of 1974 and the following Cyprus crisis. The United States focused on the Cyprus problem in the face of growing destabilization of the Middle East, showing interest in the logistics and transport infrastructure, a kind of natural outpost on the southeastern borders of NATO.

China in the world economy
Nicholas L,In the fourteenth century, China was the lead country in terms of per capita income and maritime technology. Early in the Ming dynasty, it turned its back on the world economy. By the sixteenth century, Western Europe had overtaken China in per capita income, technology and scientific knowledge, but China’s bureaucratic elite was ethnocentric and indifferent to developments outside China. Between 1820 and 1950, per capita income fell from 90 per cent to 20 per cent of the world average due mainly to civil wars and the intrusions of foreign colonialists. 1949 brought a sharp change in the political regime which was a successful defender of China’s national integrity, but operated with minimal links to the world economy. After 1978, pragmatic reforms brought a massive increase in interaction with the world economy, and a great acceleration of economic growth. It seems highly likely that by 2030, China will be the world’s biggest economy
